A Beautiful, Low-Key Outdoor Wedding

Wedding season is here!

Last weekend we attended our first wedding of the summer. It was an outdoor ceremony in Maryland's Western Shore and it was lovely.

The bride's family organized the whole thing, and there were lots of creative touches. Like this sign leading us to the shore.

The setting was gorgeous.

The family did a great job. This structure was completely homemade. I was impressed.

It was a warm, sunny day, so there were plenty of refreshments.

And the wedding guests were given pretty parasols to keep out the sun.

The guests played The Wedding March on pink kazoos! It was a bit off-key, but very sweet.

And there were cupcakes! The cakes were from my favorite bakery, Blondie's Baking Company in North Beach, Md. I had a Spiced Chai cupcake.

All in all, it was a beautiful, heartfelt wedding. I cried (of course) and ate too much macaroni and cheese.

Best wishes to the happy couple.
