A smart take on the Hugos brouhaha from Eric Flint. And here's a data breakdown from Nathaniel Givens. This confirms my view that the Hugo brand has changed. A Hugo used to signal "book you will LOVE," and it now signals "well-written, thoughtful book you may not necessarily enjoy reading." It's not necessarily a bad brand change, but it's a change.
Stop calling romance novels "trashy."
